Bello's First time pet sitting

One of the services I have offered for the past 10 years has been pet sitting. NaKoda always did so well with new dogs and helping keep them in line and taken care of. I didn't know how Bello would handle the new experience of strange dogs (especially multiples) and strange houses but I had a feeling he would do fine.
Bello's first pet sitting experience was full on too. A pack of 6 of all different breeds, sizes and ages.
Upon arrival at the new location of course he had to check out the yard and make a few marks while I went to the open the door to let the pack out.  Immediately upon realizing there was a new dog in their yard the pack of 6 surrounded Bello to check out the new guy! After all the last time this pack had seen me, NaKoda was still with me and this was a whole new guy!

Once everyone greeted each other and figured out no one was a threat and in fact this was new play mate a few of the pack members and Bello were off into the pasture for some exploring!
Bello leads the way followed by Rebel and Bella
Rebel and Bella very interested in their new friend Bello

Ant finally able to get near Bello to check him out
Millie the most timid (afraid of Bello) stayed on the porch to watch and a couple of the others immediately went back in the house

Sunday morning was easy, peasy as we arrived the pack remembered Bello briefly greeted him and they were off for their morning adventures!
Bella was so happy to see Bello when we arrived

Bello's shadow Ant: Ant followed Bello everywhere he went

Bella so pretty sitting in the wildflowers!

even the little one's want to hang with the Big Dogs!

By including Bello in the pet sitting experiences it helps him socialize with other animals as well as experience strange places, new smells and distractions which are all part of his SD (service dog) training. Bello has to be obedient even when distracted and socializing. He has to be able to meet and greet new dogs properly or ignore them when commanded and he has to be able to deal with new/strange locations that he is unfamiliar with.

Bello's 2nd pet sitting experience is coming this week. Last night he met a pack of 4. 2 small & 2 large breeds. He did very well meeting all 4 and even was playing with Oscar. Bello will be helping me tend to them (Oscar and Koda (mini schnauzer & yorkie/schitzu) and Hoss and Kane (rottweiler and pit bull/mix). Thursday - Sunday. Oscar and Koda we will pick up every morning so they can spend the day with us and drop off at home every evening for their dinner/bed time and then while we are picking up the little ones we will be tending to & spending time with Hoss & Kane.  It's going to be a blast!

It's always so much fun for me to spend time with dogs and see how they interact and behave with one another and often times help them learn a new skill or over come a fear or bad behavior! Of course with all of Bello's current training it is always very rewarding to see him exhibit his good behavior and skills in new settings too!
